Preparing to print

Back in the studio today, using the mending yarn to make marks on Lino. The plan is to print over my digital collages and make a limited edition print series.  I have varied then thickness of the yarn to create variation in line and detail.

Opening night of my exhibition, Cultural transitions, Amsterdam

Work now on display at the 5&33 Gallery Amsterdam.

My current work went on display last night, 100 guests came to the opening. It was well supported and a great night, I enjoyed the opportunity to talk about my work and get it out there, well at least in Amsterdam for the next 6 weeks.

Rubber stamped

I wanted a more versatile way of producing a business card that will ensure quick and easy access to this site. I went for a hand made rubber stamp from the Royal stamp house in Amsterdam. Posthumuswinkel make custom-made stamps of every kind since 1865. http://www.posthumuswinkel.nl

I produced a simple PDF file from an Indesign file with a QR code. Now I can use this to sign my work, mark old-school business cards and stamp on pretty much anything. I had to use an ink with some acid content as this gives the smoothest finish, which is important for a QR code.

photoI have arrived in Amsterdam.

After 17 years working in London as a designer and educator, I have left my full time teaching position to move across the water to find new creative opportunities and collaborations.

I will continue to work on a number of UK based design projects and return to teach undergraduate digital modules at a number of UK Universities.
